Spinner II Centrifuge: This self-powered product controls fluid contaminants, saving customers money otherwise spent on overhaul, frequent fluid changes or on performance-robbing losses in system efficiency. Its application to engines is typical: some of the lube oil flow that would otherwise dump wasted over a control valve is converted to high speed rotation in a turbine where abrasive dirt can be separated and stored. The rotation generates more than 2500 times the force of gravity, routinely removing particles much smaller than 0.5 micrometers and trapping debris inside a cleanable bowl. The result on engines is a 50% reduction in wear rate and greatly extended oil durability. Since this centrifuge is cleanable, it forms the principal C-C-W-D® product for Devon Industries.

CS Cleanable Screens: The CS Oil Cleaning System provides cleanable full-flow screens in either spin-on or industrial high-flow arrangements, and is most often applied to engines. These screens use stainless steel dutch-twill weave wire cloth as a permanent debris barrier. Complemented by the Spinner II Centrifuge, CS offers contamination control that exceeds that of traditional media-type filters while providing longer service intervals and extended engine component life. The CS Cleanable Screens completely eliminate disposable filters while improving lube oil cleaniliness, and is Devon Industries' first C-C-W-D® system.

Grid Switch Metal Particle Detector: The Grid Switch Metal Particle Detector is an on-line device to track unusual metal spalling so operators can anticipate catastrophic failure of a key lubricated component. By use of an electrical grid, large metal debris from an impending failure is intercepted, bridges the contacts and provides an alert signal. Its been widely-applied in the drilling market for over 25 years, helping prevent diesel engines from hard-to-fix crash & burns. It can be applied on any critical lubricated system, including pumps or gear sets. The Grid Switch is Devon's way to apply C-C-W-D® to failure prevention.

Self-Cleaning Filtration: Applied to nearly any fluid, self-cleaning filtration systems avoid the costly service and disposal costs associated with media-based filtration. Various hardware confirgurations allow successful application across a broad range of dirt loads and at a number of degrees of particle size retention levels. Applied to circulating lube systems, and combined with the Spinner II Centrifuge, self-cleaning filtration becomes a practical way to avoid disposables yet maintain control of fine wear-causing abrasives. Self-cleaning filtration is Devon Industries' second C-C-W-D® system.

Vortex Orbital Shale Shaker: A patented and new shale shaker technology now offered by Vortex Fluid Systems combining the benefits of non-uniform elliptical motion with reliable design and simple maintenance. Different from unbalanced machines with one vibrator above the basket, the Vortex design eliminates the backwards conveyance; backwards motion required downwards-tilting discharge screens which caused mud loss and reduced flow capacity. Vortex Fluid Systems has invented a shaker with an elliptical motion pattern that progresses from a high rate of conveyance at the feed, for improved throughput to a lower rate of conveyance at the basket discharge end for cuttings drying. The Vortex Orbital Shale Shaker is an essential contribution to C-C-W-D® for drilling mud solids control.

Photo in progress... Thermojet: In concert with C-C-W-D®, Devon Industries sought a superior way to handle removal of water or other contaminant fluids from lube oil. The Thermojet Purifier uses a patented solubility-driven process to strip liquids from oil into an air stream. The heated oil is pumped through a special jet mixer and expanded in a separation chamber; foreign liquids in the lube oil vaporize and are drawn into atmospheric air or inert gas, then vented. Condensate remains after being fully separated from any oils. In addition to foreign process liquids, free, emulsified and dissolved water can be removed with this process.
